'Kendama' means something different to each and every person who plays it. For many, it's a 'lifestyle' that teaches, and promotes growth creatively over time. For us, Kendama not only helped us grow as artists/craftsmen, but it pushed us to be as good as we can be in all facets of life, by granting us a chance to give back through something we are passionate about. Here at Evolution (formerly Kendama Custom Kreations) we strive to be the best small community based skill-toy manufacturer in the region! Based in New Brighton, PA, we aim to do so by offering both high quality hand-turned products and beautifully preassembled CNC machined Kendamas! Everything is constantly EVO-lving around us... including Kendama... and it is truly fascinating that a small, simple, elegant skill toy is bringing people (from all over the world) together in ways we've never seen before!
Our Process
Our Premium Kendamas are produced using locally sourced materials, and are 100% handturned/handmade (in house) from start to finish. Each piece of wood, regardless of species, is hand inspected for quality and durability before being considered for one of our products. We take immense care while crafting our hand-turned Kendamas, checking for cracks, bad growth, and every other relevant detail, from top to bottom! We work with all kinds of domestic and exotic woods, creating some of the most beautiful handmade Kendamas in the U.S.A! The best part of all, though, is our prices! By keeping overhead costs low, and excess labor to a minimum, we are able to compete greatly with other companies that charge significantly more for the same types of products! From EVO, Players are able to pick up a high quality Kendama (whether CNC or Hand-turned) and not break the bank or worry about damaging a product that they spent hundreds of dollars on!
Our Future
Rebranding a company that we have long believed in took significant thought and consideration before any action were taken. KCK (Kendama Custom Kreations) was the brainchild of a group of passionate young men who fell in love with a skill toy at an early age, and saw the utility in having something culturally iconic to teach hand/eye coordination, balance and dexterity... things many young ones are lacking today with the advent of technology... Now, times have changed and the ideas behind the company have altered as well. As we progress forward as a company, we plan to continue to EVOLVE ourselves/our products in ways that will allow us to remain innovative in our deliverance of the highest quality products on the market! To us, EVO isn't just a new name or a new brand.. it's the marking of a new era... the beginning of a new chapter... so STAY TUNED as we continue to test the limits of possibility!
